The lawn mower is stored, and the yard tools put away.
More time is spent indoors since we have more night than day.
For some winter’s their favorite season when the pace is slow.
They find the cold invigorating, and even wish for snow.
For others it’s time for hot cocoa and a retreat to a cozy nook,
Listening to soft music with a long neglected book.
But then there are some chores that simply must be done.
Dog walking on a dark cold morning is not a lot of fun.
And then there are active types that search for sites to ski.
Others, though, escape the cold with a cruise on a southern sea.
The Snowbirds all run to Florida until it gets too hot.
But we homefolks just stay put, ‘cause we love this place a lot.
