Summer is Rockin’ at the Old Rock Café

Summer is officially here, and we are celebrating by bringing back something we’ve all missed – live music at the Old Rock Café. There’s no better way to spend a warm evening than enjoying a meal and a drink on the back deck of the Old Rock, overlooking the Rocky Broad River and listening to some great local music. After two years of no concerts on the deck, we are ready to kick back and enjoy!

This year, we’re adding to the fun by including some of our community partners that support conservation efforts in western North Carolina. A portion of proceeds from each event in our 2022 music series, Playing for Our Partners, will go to a local nonprofit organization. Representatives from each group will be at the event so folks can meet their staff, get to know the work they do in our community and find volunteer opportunities.

Our next event on July 16th will feature local Americana musician Walter Finley, and proceeds will support the Chimney Rock Village Community Development Association. Folk singer/songwriter Mike Pauer will join us on August 20th to support our friends at Conserving Carolina, and will return on September 17th to benefit Appalachian Wildlife Refuge. We’ll be rounding out the series in October by bringing in the Friends of Chimney Rock State Park for a fun fall evening on the 15th, joined again by Mike Pauer.

There are no tickets required for the event so feel free to stop by, grab dinner and support local artists and conservationists from 6 to 8pm on each night in the series. Mark your calendars for the third Saturday of the month, now through October, and we’ll see you there.

And if you’re looking to enjoy the Old Rock any other time this summer, you’re in luck. Our extended seasonal hours are 11am to 5pm Monday through Friday, and 11am to 8pm Saturday and Sunday. Come by and enjoy the newly renovated restaurant and deck as well as a full menu of local favorites, weekly burger specials and plant-based options.
