LLCA Students Spread Joy Across the Gorge

By Barbara Cohen, School Director

The cooler weather brings dreams of winter festivities and holiday cheer. For many of us watching Christmas classics while drinking hot cocoa is always a welcomed part of late fall and early winter. Children are anticipating holiday breaks from school, and parents are planning their to-do list for their families. However, something else happens during this busy time of the year.  Lake Lure Classical Academy (LLCA) students are preparing to spread joy to many residents of the Gorge. The LLCA Signing Raptors Chorus is one of the many groups at the school that spread holiday cheer by performing at various local functions. This holiday season the students want to personally invite community members to their performances. These performances are open to the public and LLCA students welcome an engaging audience to watch them perform.

  • On November 9th – Veteran’s Day Event – Students will host a free breakfast for local veterans and then honor them through music performances and artwork.
  • On November 19th – LLCA students will perform at the Annual Lightening of the Flowering Bridge.
  • On December 4th – LLCA’s kindergarten through second grade students will perform holiday musical songs and entertain guests with their musical abilities.
  • On December 12th – LLCA third grade through fifth grade students will showcase their musical talents through holiday songs and instrumental performances.

Lake Lure Classical Academy is located at 1058 Island Creek Rd. in Lake Lure. So mark your calendars and support students, and help spread the holiday joy.  All performances are free and open to the public. For more information, please contact the school by calling (828) 625-9292.
