Our beloved Flowering Bridge, as we know it, will soon be demolished. What’s left of the old bridge is crumbling, unstable, and unsafe due to Hurricane Helene. But, our Bridge volunteers are determined to move forward and salvage the east and west end gardens and open our new Education Center.
When our new Education Center opens we will offer fun and informative classes and realize a new vision for the Lake Lure Flowering Bridge. We will also offer a variety of unique, handmade items made exclusively by the Lake Lure Artists for the Education Center retail area. We hope to open the building this year.
We have a huge task before us. Our infrastructure must be rebuilt, fences constructed, parking areas surfaced, and gardens replanted. The Bridge may not be the same as it was, but we envision creating a wonderful destination for our visitors. We will inform, educate and delight your senses with a beautiful new vista.
Along with the devastation left behind by Hurricane Helene, our steady funding came to a halt. We need your help! Please consider donating or buying a commemorative brick on our website at LLFB.org. By supporting us, you will bring us closer to our vision of a “new Flowering Bridge.” Join us in watching our progress as we grow our new future.
