I’ve lived here for almost 40 years and I have been coming here since I was born, over 60 years. My family has been here since the 1700’s.
I say this to let you know that I have seen blizzards and floods and the hurricane that hit here in 2024 was absolutely terrifying. What happened with our lake was truly unbelievable. I must tell you that I was in shock after it happened.
Today I think about the first time I get to put my boat in the water. After the floods of 1996 and 2006 the fishing was still very good. Which leads me to believe that the fishing is going to be good.
I will start booking trips for the first of May and I can’t wait to get out on the water. I take people fishing and I also will start this year offering private lake Lure trips for people that want a little more than what you get on a group tour. History of the lake and wildlife in the area. Photographers that want to see the bald eagle or something special.
