Last week I had a family on the boat that told me they were not experienced at fishing and wanted to give it a try. This time of year, I usually go early. From six to ten in the morning. To catch the top water action. I met them at seven o’clock in the morning and we headed out.

We started trolling around the lake and after about a good thirty minutes we got a bite. Then she, a four-year-old, all by herself started to get the fish close to the boat. That’s the biggest fish ever. That’s what I heard when we reeled in the lure with a white bass on the hook. She was so happy and excited. We caught 7 white bass that morning. And just because it’s not the biggest fish you’ve ever seen doesn’t mean it’s not a big fish.
I would like to thank everyone that worked so diligently to get Lake Lure reopened again! After guiding on the lake for over thirty years, I have seen a lot out on the water. The work they have done is wonderful. You can still see some steps coming from a house, but the dock is not at the end of the steps. It will take time. Hats off!!
Since the lake reopened Lewis No Clark Expeditions has been fishing hard. The fish are biting. Call Michael Lewis 828-223-0269 http://www.lakelurefishingguides.com
