The Bills Creek Community Center in Lake Lure is pleased to announce the recipients of its inaugural scholarship awards: Maria Davis Kelly, Kaden Nicholae and Judson Bogden.
Each recipient demonstrated a strong commitment to serving the Lake Lure community. Because the Community Center’s mission includes improving the health and well-being of the entire community, volunteerism and public service were given significant consideration during the scholarship selection process.
The scholarship program was open to both graduating high school seniors and adults seeking to continue their education. By including applicants of different ages and educational backgrounds, the Community Center hopes to encourage lifelong learning while recognizing people who make a positive difference in the Lake Lure area.
The Bills Creek Community Center congratulates this year’s recipients and thanks everyone who applied. The Center plans to offer the scholarship program again next year, continuing its investment in education, community service and the future of the Lake Lure community.
The Bills Creek Community Center is a 501c-3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of our community. Please email billscreekcommunitycenter@gmail.com if you would like to get more information on us.
