The construction of the Crossings of Lake Lure Independent Senior Living Phase II is officially underway. The groundbreaking took place on August 6th at the complex’s site at 980 Buffalo Creek Road in Lake Lure. The Crossings of Lake Lure is a state-of-the-art, 80-unit Senior Independent Living Facility spanning approximately 80,000 square feet. The project has a total development budget of $35 million. Construction is expected to take over 26 months.

The Crossings of Lake Lure is an Independent Living Community designed for adults 55 and over. Residents will enjoy a peaceful, picturesque environment with access to well-appointed homes with comprehensive amenities that support active independent lifestyle in one of North Carolina’s most scenic locations. Designed with various one- and two-bedroom layouts, the facility will offer competitive rental rates to serve the region’s middle-income population.
The Crossings of Lake Lure is being developed by Christian Tyler Properties of Tampa, Florida and will be operated by ALG Senior Communities.

A significant portion of the financing for the Crossings of Lake Lure comes from EB-5 investors seeking to immigrate to the United States, while Christian Tyler Properties also contributes a large portion of the funding — sharing in both the investment and the risk.
Local efforts to establish an Independent Senior Living Center in Lake lure were initiated by former Lake Lure Mayor Bob Keith and Area Developer and resident Tommy Hartzog. Assistance in establishing utilities for the building site was provided by the Rutherford County Economic Development Commission as well as from the Rutherford County Commissioners.

Their combined efforts will result in a substantial number of full-time jobs at the Crossings of Lake Lure.
