I’ve seen and I’ve heard people saying that Lake Lure is dirty and the fish are all gone. I have to say you’re wrong wrong wrong? Before the hurricane, I heard people say that they haven’t been able to catch a fish on Lake Lure. For years I have heard this.

Funny how I can go out after the hurricane and catch more than twenty fish in a four-hour trip. The first day I was allowed to get back on the lake, I watched a Bald Eagle sit on a tree limb while we fished below it on the lake. A few days later I watched an eagle eating a fish. I have seen beavers and turtles. And a couple of my friends have seen a bear swimming across the lake. So, it must be pretty clean!
I have been having a lot of luck on the lake this year. I go early to beat the heat and the crowds. We are having a blast! Top water action and sub surface lures are working great. There’s a lot of new techniques and lures out on the market these days and I have most of it on my boat.
I took these boys fishing a few days ago. They had never been fishing on a boat and hadn’t really done much fishing. They paid attention and they did really good. So, if you want to try something new or just get out on the lake and learn a new trick or two give me a call. Michael Lewis 828-223-0269
